Position: Veterinary Technician
Job Type: Full-time (4/10 hour shifts, with rotating Saturdays)
Location: Buffalo, MN (Serving Wright County and surrounding communities)
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Surgical Support: Assist the Veterinarian during procedures and surgeries, ensuring the safe handling and preparation of animals.

• Animal Care: Prepare shelter animals for surgery and adoption, ensuring their comfort and safety. Administer medications and vaccinations as required.

• Clinic Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the clinic and surgical areas, including surgical pack preparation and lab upkeep.

• Client Interaction: Provide support in our wellness clinic, working with clients on animal health matters.

• Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in the shelter’s database.

Required Qualifications:

• CVT Status and at least one year of experience as a veterinary technician in a clinical and surgical environment. preferred but not required we will accept on-the-job experience with written references.

• Shelter Experience: Preferred but not required. Skills:

• Ability to pre-medicate and induce patients, intubate animals and prepare them for surgery.

• Proficient in administering medications, vaccinations, and maintaining clinical records.

• Experience working in high-volume surgical environments is preferred, but not required.

• Ability to work with fractious or feral animals using appropriate safety equipment.

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in a physically and mentally demanding environment.
