Crossroads Community Veterinary Clinic is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to quality veterinary care through a spectrum of care approach. Working in conjunction with our animal shelter and high-volume spay/neuter program, we serve both owned pets and animals transitioning to new homes. Our team is passionate about supporting the human-animal bond, keeping pets healthy, and helping families overcome financial or situational barriers to care.
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinarian who embodies the spectrum of care philosophy—meeting clients and patients where they are, while delivering thoughtful, ethical, and practical medical solutions. The ideal candidate is eager, adaptable, collaborative, and community-minded. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice medicine in a mission-driven environment that blends shelter medicine, wellness, and preventative care, with moderate to high-volume surgical services. This position reports to the Director of Operations & Medical Services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, accessible medical care to owned and shelter animals, using the spectrum of care model.
Perform spay/neuter surgeries and other soft tissue surgeries at a moderate to high volume, with efficiency and compassion.
Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs and circumstances.
Collaborate with veterinary support staff, management, and community partners to ensure coordinated, effective care.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to veterinary technicians, assistants, and students as appropriate.
Develop client relationships
Support the shelter team with medical oversight, case evaluations, and population health management.
Maintain detailed and accurate medical records in compliance with organizational policies and standards.
Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of learning, respect, and adaptability.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
Active or eligible for licensure in the State of Minnesota.
Strong surgical and clinical skills with an interest in continuous improvement.
Commitment to the principles of accessible veterinary care and community service.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining composure and compassion.
Shelter medicine or moderate/ high-volume surgery experience preferred, willing to work with the right candidate.
